Introducing Martin Marbles Misadventures: A Magical Adventure Born from Family, Poems, Perseverance, and Imagination

October 17, 2025

This isn’t just the tale of a mischievous marble—it’s a story of family, creativity, and resilience. What began as a bedtime rhyme has grown into a joyful children’s series: Martin Marbles Misadventures: Volume 1 — Lost and Found, The Cat’s Meow, and A Day at School by Mister J, featuring artwork by his twin sons, Austin and Tyson.

Long before Martin tumbled through classrooms and dodged kitties, these rhymes helped the twins learn to read. First shared in 2014 with a local “learn to read” program and later covered by InsideHalton, the stories have now grown into a series.

Three more volumes are planned, each with Austin and Tyson’s drawings—capturing their creativity while navigating learning challenges. These illustrations now complete the stories, making them ready for families and classrooms everywhere.

Mister J shares: “Watching my sons grow with these stories, seeing them light up as they learned to read and add pictures to my poems, has been incredible. The books celebrate imagination, literacy, and the joy of storytelling.”

In Lost and Found, Cat’s Meow, and A Day at School, children follow a bouncy yellow marble through mischief and fun—bringing giggles, lessons, and inspiration.

Local Launch & Author Read-Aloud:

“The very poems that taught my kids to read were given life by their drawings while growing up.”
